Gregory Canaras is the Founding Principal of Gregory Canaras Architecture, PLLC. Greg received his Bachelor in Architecture Degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute where he received the Pella Prize, the University’s highest design honor for his graduating class. He then obtained his Masters Degree in Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.

Greg has garnered over Twenty Five years of design and project management experience, with a focus in the Cultural Institutional & Residential sectors, working with talented colleagues at the offices of Machado & Silvetti in Boston, KierenTimberlake in Philadelphia and Ennead Architects in New York City. At these firms, his work transected multiple project types which included leadership roles on Boston’s Allston Branch Library, Philadelphia Theatre Company’s Suzanne Roberts Theatre, Harvard University’s Graduate School Housing on their Business School Campus, and NYU Langone Medical Center. After working at these offices, Greg co-founded League Studio Architects in New York City where for over 9 years he oversaw multiple residential renovations, office & manufacturing conversions at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and retail flagship stores for notable Clientele.

Mr. Canaras currently leads several residential and commercial projects at GCA. He has served as a visiting critic for students at Virginia Tech, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Northeastern University, Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, Parsons New School and Carnegie Mellon. Greg is a licensed Architect in the States of New York & New Jersey, holds NCARB certification, is a LEED Accredited Professional and is a Member of The American Institute of Architects. Greg is an active Member of the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce in New York and is an Executive Board Member of the New York State Office of the Professions for Architecture, serving for the term 2023-2028.
